Due to numerous requests for upgrades, this watch now comes with sapphire glass as standard.
In 1983, CWC produced the first quartz divers' watch for the Royal Navy and this reissue has been made to the same specifications, with SuperLuminova (as Tritium is no longer available). The T on the dial remains for historical correctness.
The quartz version was specified by the M.O.D. to include a polished case, sword minute hand, Tritium dial and luminous bezel. This continued throughout the 1980s. In the early '90s, the hands and bezel changed.

After owning a Rolex Submariner 5513 for 20 years, I decided to try the CWC 1983 Reissue—and it exceeded my expectations. In 1967 I purchased the Rolex Submariner from the NAAFI. In 1972 I lost my Rolex when I woke up on the deck in the dockyard on Gibraltar.
After numerous Rolexes and an Omega Planet Ocean, today I finally purchased the 1983 reissue Divers watch. It looks great on my wrist. Thanks Silvermans I’m very pleased with my purchase.
