CWC - BRITISH MILITARY WATCHES
MADE TO MILITARY SPECIFICATION SINCE 1972
Excellent watch strap.Well made.Usual high quality CWC Product, delivery and service.
Thank you.
Simple, functional and comfortable.
Great product, and definitely under priced. Wearing it on my Pusser's issue SBS diver, and whilst it's described as Air Force blue, it certainly compliments the new RIG22 of the Royal Navy. Would recommend.
Great looking strap and really compliments my G1 beautifully especially with the military stamping
Needed to get a couple of new straps and CWC is the place to go. Nice fit and soft. Excellent quality all around
An absolutely hoofing coin. The attention to detail is incredible. The additional touch of the lume to the coin is outstanding. This will take pride of place in my collection.
I’m going to be 100% honest from the outset. I have not dived in over 20 years, (just writing that makes me feel old… and tired!!), and back in the day I had a Citizen Promaster 200m Divers C500-S71254 – Analogue & Digital watch. (A mouth full but written in full for those who like to look these things up..) There’s one on eBay as I write this going for around £375.00.
I did a zero to hero PADI instructors course in the early 2000’s in New Zealand and having the right kit was almost a prerequisite for success because most of what makes diving a going concern for the shops is selling gear to divers, not actually diving.
I digress but I promise there is a point coming dear reader…
I can clearly remember wearing that citizen watch, even now, after all these years and many, many other watches including a Breitling Chrono Avenger, a nite watch and the Garmin that’s down stairs right now instead of on my wrist.
The reason I can still remember the citizen is two fold.
On the one hand (puns… everywhere…) it was solid and heavy… but on the other it felt delicate.
Like it would explode into its composite parts if knocked in just the right (or wrong) way.
The lug pins were weird, the rubber strap while good quality just didn’t give me that warm fuzzy feeling, especially at 18 to 30 meters under water.
So I brought a separate dive computer. (Sales, they gotta make their sales..)
Redundancy in diving is essential. But it shouldn’t feel necessary.
You should have confidence in all your equipment and this watch, with its history of being used by fairly unforgiving end users in places most people couldn’t pronounce let alone locate on a map without a fairly decent search engine inspires all kinds of confidence in this old diver.
It’s small (compared to what I usually wear anyway) but not in a bad way.
The face is very clear with easy to interpret icons, numbers and hands.
With a little light before dark on the dial the luminous parts pop and are extremely easy to read.
It has a lovely feel to it with the rotating dial giving great feedback when turned.
Obviously it is designed for diving and to that end swimming and snorkelling will easily be within its wheelhouse. (Both of which I’m hoping will be within mine!!)
Customer service is spot on. My watch arrived with the correct time, day and date set making it immediately usable which was a great touch.
I understand that this item could be seen as a rather large investment and there are obviously other manufacturers who do the same thing for less.
However: you buy cheap, you buy twice… measure twice, cut once… you’re in your own time. I could go on. If you can afford one and you’re thinking about getting one… do it. You won’t be disappointed.
As an aside, if you are serving, whether it be Army, Airforce, Navy or Marines, get in touch with them. Nuff said on that.
Nice mug, have the T20 Lost Boy watch so.a good compliment to it.
Prompt delivery, part as anticipated fitted in no fuss, wouldent hesitate to order from again, assuming the part/ parts I wanted were in stock, this potential is the only issue as when checking the site most common parts are listed as "nil stock"
Top quality piece will go great with my CWC
watch collection especially my SBS
With my issued g10's being 30 plus years old I was always a bit worried around water but now with the GS sapphire I fear no more, great watch
An essential timepiece for all kinds of life’s events. CWC customer service department are very kind and professional. My only gripe is the duty/taxes surcharges for us in North America!
The CWC 1980 Royal Navy Diver Reissue is one of those watches that slips under the radar in the mainstream, but that’s exactly what makes it special to me. While everyone’s talking about the Rolex Milsub, few realize that CWC took over from Rolex in 1980 as the Royal Navy’s official supplier.
The original CWC diver was likely cased in Switzerland using an MRP SA case—built for durability, not for show—and was all about function over flair.
This reissue sticks to that ethos. With only 600 pieces made, it brings modern upgrades like a sapphire crystal and a Top Grade movement, close to COSC standards, without compromising the original’s no-nonsense design.
It’s a pure tool watch that replaced the Milsub for a reason—it gets the job done, quietly and effectively. If you're into genuine military history and functionality over brand hype, CWC has nailed it again.
Honestly probably my best watch, I’d say it’s better than a Rolex, same water resistants but with a more accurate movement and fixed lugs, on the other hand I do think the price is a little high but it’s a perfect everyday watch, I do recommend switching the strap for a zuludiver apex, CWC makes amazing straps but I think the Zulu diver enhances the watch!
Very simple and durable watch.
