Introducing the CWC G10 FATBOY-80, the first quartz issued watch to British Forces, the G10 (WATCH WRIST, ELECTRONIC GENERAL SERVICE).
Nicknamed "Fatboy" by collectors worldwide, due to the fatter case made to fit the early Swiss movements that were much thicker than today's ETA Swiss movements.
The dial and hands are light vintage Super-LumiNova and are extremely close to the original Tritium dials and hands.
The G10 Fatboy-80 has the old CWC logo and circle T for historical correctness, which was only used for two years before 1982 when the CWC logo in the oval came into effect.
Everything about the G10 Fatboy 1980 reissue has been produced in Switzerland over the last two years to recreate this historic timepiece. A completely new deep Fatboy case, dial, hands, even the look of the battery hatch has been matched to the original.
Powering the G10 Fatboy behind the scenes is a brand new ETA F06 range quartz movement, the next generation of reliable and durable 100% Swiss-made movements.
We are sure that our customers are going to love the FATBOY-80, which looks and feels just like the original, over 40 years later.
I had my eyes on this watch for quite a while and managed to get it for my 30th birthday last year. I’m a huge collector of field watches, so this was a must-have for me. I am blown away by the quality of this watch. It is beautiful to look at, I love all of the details of it and I love how chunky it is. It’s overall a very stunning watch and for a very good price as well! Thanks CWC!
Excellent service as usual
A very nice looking watch with the early logo and the thicker case than later G10`s. The one thing that would make it better would be the inward curve of the case where the crown meets the case instead of the straight line of later versions, a detail unique to the early pre 83 watches.
well made and good quality
